This TV series was spawned by the movie from the previous year. It's too bad that the network that carried it bounced it around their schedule so much that people missed it when it was on. Remember, there was no Tivo back then and VCRs weren't available to the average citizen. Schedule inconsistencies and preemptions caused the failure of the TV show, not the story or the content. I watched a mere handful of episodes before it got canceled.
