Call for Super Chicken!
This is the perfect time to write about Super Chicken; a time when I'm feeling all full of myself, after publishing an article on my main blog about being one of the fittest in today's economic climate. I consider it very appropriate.
The Longevity of Super Chicken
Having first aired in 1967 as part of the George of the Jungle animated television series, it's still being aired (along with George) in syndication on independent television stations. I watched it then and I'll watch it again if I spot it being aired. I'll never forget the theme song and the Super Chicken battle cry, along with the flamboyant costume. Well, I guess he WAS a rooster after all. The theme song went something like this (forgive me if it isn't completely correct):
When you find yourself in danger,
When you're threatened by a stranger,
When it looks like you will take a lickin', (puk, puk, puk)
There is someone waiting,
Who will hurry up and rescue you,
Just Call for Super Chicken! (puk, ack!)
Fred, if you're afraid you'll have to overlook it,
Besides you knew the job was dangerous when you took it (puk, ack!)
He will drink his super sauce
And throw the bad guys for a loss
And he will bring them in alive and kickin' (puk, puk, puk)
There is one thing you should learn
When there is no one else to turn to
Call for Super Chicken! (puk, puk, puk)
Call for Super Chicken! (puk, ack!)
A Million Bucks
That's what I feel like; a million bucks (bucks is American slang for dollars, just in case you didn't know). I'm feeling exhausted from a lack of sleep, but it's a good exhausted feeling. I also feel like I just need a little super sauce to get me going and doing as much as any Super Chicken could hope to do.
